Busy Weekend for East Grinstead Target Shooters

East Grinstead’s Small-bore shooters were in good form at the weekend with a clutch of awards being won at the Club’s Spring Open Shoot, which attracted 46 competitors from Clubs in the South East. Malcom Brain and Andy Meyers also won the Open Pairs, while Elaine and Samantha Kettle won the C & D Pairs. Charles White of East Grinstead won the Juniors’ Dewar with score of 373 ex 400. Croydon Finals

On Sunday, Malcolm Brain and Trevor Wilde also shot in the Croydon finals at Gally Hill and came a creditable 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Bisley Easter Meeting

Not to be outdone, in Full-bore Shooting East Grinstead’s Rifle Captain Tim Green beat all comers in the “Swiss Reload” Easter meeting at Bisley. This tough competition takes place over 300, 500, 600, 900 and 1000 yards and this year the weather conditions were very tricky with fast changes of wind strength and angle throughout the weekend event. Tim Green won outright at 900 and 100 yards and was the overall winner of the competition. Well done Tim!
