The Sussex County Finals were held at Chichester on Saturday 13th April with Charles White getting the ball rolling by winning the Juniors Championship for the Sutton Vase. Following 4 x 99's in the 4 cards of the competition so far, he notched a 5th 99 before going one better for a ton on the final card to win with a total of 199 ex 200, 3 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Not to be outdone, dad, David White then scored a 99 and TWO tons, for a score of 299 ex 300 to become the short-range champion of Sussex and win the Lawson Challenge Trophy. Malcolm Brain matched David shot for shot on the first two cards but just fell away at the last to finish in a very creditable 2nd place on 297 ex 300. Linda Smallbone and Simon Bushell also made it through to the final, finishing 6th & 9th respectively.

In the Veterans Championship for the Hardy Roberts Trophy, Malcolm again took 2nd place, just ahead of Linda with Peter Watson, already crowned the SuperVet champion, finishing 4th.

In between all this Malcolm also found time to take part in the Veterans Club Team Knockout Final, where with the help of Richard Nichols & Jim Howard, the EGTSC team took the prize with a victory over Centaur.

A strong showing by EGTSC members who were up against some very strong oppostion. Well done!
