All the usual good conversation and bonhomie!

Congratulations to all the prize winners.

Special mentions aren't usually made because everyone works really hard to achieve their results. However, on this occasion:

Peter Watson and Mike Kettle:

  • Awarded the Powell Trophy for service to the club. Special because this isn't awarded every year and it is normally awarded to a non-committee member who has made significant efforts in helping the committee to run the club. I believe this is the first time it's been awarded to committee members.
  • Given that it has been awarded to committee members a very honourable mention should also go to Jim Howard.

Jim Howard:

  •  Who has waded through all the disruption of competitions caused by Covid, kept members up to date and produced the results list.
  • Also waded through all the Covid information and summarised the way forward at each change in position from the government.
  • Also took on the post of Secretary.
  • Also received a special prize from the Polar Bear League for all his assistance with their results spreadsheet. They offered payment but he refused. So they sent him a lovely little polar bear!

Malcolm Brain:

  • Finally, many thanks to Malcolm for his 14 year tenure as Secretary of the club.

To the above, and everyone who has helped run the club for the last two years - thank you all.
