More than 40 competitors from Clubs in the South East took part in the East Grinstead Target Shooting Club Autumn shoot at 50 metres over the weekend. The conditions varied from bright sun to heavy overcast and rain but the wind remained calm for most of the weekend. Class A was won by Linda Smallbone of Eastbourne with a score of 592 ex 600, who also won the Veterans Handicap and Ladies Handicap competitions. Class B was won by Trevor Budgen of Edenbridge with a score of 583. Class C was won by junior Lewis Strotten of Aldingbourne with an excellent score 570. Class D went to Geoff Gilbert of East Grinstead with a score of 548 on count-back, who also won the Class C&D pairs with partner Gordon Pomeroy.
Karen Kennedy of Horsham won the Juniors Handicap with a score of 585.69. The Open Pairs competition was won by Graham Ramsey and Tony Wells of Cuckfield. The HPS trophy presented by Robert Nibbs for the best score by a shooter using an HPS System Gemini stock, was won by Sue Thomas of Uckfield Home Guard who was also runner up in Class A.
