Work Party etc
The work party got quite a bit done:
- Armoury is now 100% LED.
- Firing point is now 100% LED.
- Butts are 50/50. Thanks to David and Charles for cleaning them up before I started.
- The Ladies toilet has seen the demolition team do their stuff.
- The greenery has seen several people hacking it back
- The stair carpet has been thoroughly cleaned.
So quite a useful work party. Thanks everyone.
Post Party Update
A new requirement of our buildings insurance is to have the electrical installation certified. After the committee obtained quotes, the electricians have been in and completed the work. This included some significant work including a new circuit breaker distribution board, a few more power sockets to reduce our reliance on flying leads, and a switch in place of the snooker meter.
There were two 'trip outs' picked up by the new system when it was energised. The circuit for the bank of 4x8ft lights (now 8x4ft) failed. After an investigation by the electricians the new units are fine. It turned out to be a supply cable in the roof having been nibbled by squirrels! This was promptly replaced. The second failure was the warmer drawer element in the cooker. As we have never used this facility to my knowledge we can probably get by without too much trouble for a while yet. Nobby has disconnected the warmer drawer so we can continue to use the cooker.
Some minor remaining electrical items have also now been sorted by Nobby.
Following further work:
- the butts are now all LED,
- the range lights are now all LED,
- as is the Ladies (soon to be disabled),
- the stairs are now LED.
Many thanks to the following:
Nobby for his guidance, assistance and foresight on this project that has saved us a tidy sum.
Graham R for the text forming the basis of this post, letting the electricians in, and continuing with the works on the ladies toilet.
Thanks also to Graham S who opened up the club on Wednesday.
On the basis I missed people off the work party post on FB - anyone else who has assisted with this project.
Ongoing / future tasks are:
- Ladies toilet.
- Finish making good. - DONE thanks Graham Rowcroft.
- Install disabled compliant fittings.
- Sand and decorate.
- Car park. Needs a good haircut. - IN PROGRESS thanks Andy Meyers.
- Chimney. Recent visits to the loft as part of the electrical works has shown that this is in need of repair as water is getting in around the flashing and through the brickwork itself. Anybody know a builder?
- Drainage behind 50m. Small ditch needs digging out as the area is very wet and we keep having to rescue the man that cuts the grass for us.
- Paint / Decorate:
- Stats office.
- Stairs
- Firing point.
- Armoury.
- Airgun range.
- Indoor range
- club room.
- Anything else you can think off.
HMmm... Looks like we could do with another work party! Any volunteers?
