Malcolm and Sarah Cooper at Felbridge

On the 17th February 1987 the club welcomed Malcolm and Sarah Cooper plus a crew of 10 from Granada TV for a days filming in the club house. Club members Keith Worsfold, David Britchford, and Mike Kettle were in attendance to provide any assistance required.

Weather Plays it's Part

Blustery conditions on Saturday and calmer conditions on Sunday meant that the prize winners were biased towards those that shot on Sunday.

International Dewar Match GB Team Trial 2019

For those "in the know" the event is referred to as the Dewar Trials. For the rest of us here's a little more information.

David White and Andy Meyers travelled to Appleton Range on Saturday 15th June 2019 to compete in the International Dewar Match GB Team Trial. 

The GB Dewar Postal Competition is a match against the USA and Commonwealth countries such as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. 

Sussex County Meeting June 2019

Close scores and slip ups at Sussex Meeting.

For the Sutton Gold Cup David White was just edged out of first place on countback having tied on 391 for the top slot. Malcolm Brain took 3rd place with a score of 390. This was his own doing as he would have beaten them both if he hadn't put up a cross shot and earned 2 penalty points.☹️ Andy Meyers came 6th on 388.

Competitions Update 2 - May 2019

NSRA Individual British Short Range Championship

After two very competitive preliminary rounds, thirty of the top smallbore shooters in Britain qualified for the final stage of the 2018/19 British Championship.  Amongst them was David White of East Grinstead, following in the footsteps of Andy Meyers and Malcolm Brain who both qualified in previous years, and showing that the club continues to grow from strength to strength.

Competitions Update - May 2019 - Eastbourne Finals Day

Eastbourne & District Competition Finals

The Eastbourne Finals took place on Saturday May 11 at Uckfield’s range in East Hoathly.  Despite the atrocious weather outside the clubhouse, the outlook was bright for East Grinstead with representatives in almost every final.

Competitions Update - April 2019

City of London Finals

The City of London finals were held at Surbiton Rifle Club on Saturday April 27.  In the team shoot-off, contested by the four divisional champions from the Winter season, East Grinstead had two teams representing the club.  The ‘A’ team achieved the highest total gun score but lost out on the Macrae handicap system, with the EGTSC ‘C’ team of Graham Rowcroft, Elaine Kettle, Phil Wood, Mike Levy & Chris Phillips (standing in for Sheena Wilde) winning the trophy.

EGTSC Members at Sussex Finals 2019

The Sussex County Finals were held at Chichester on Saturday 13th April with Charles White getting the ball rolling by winning the Juniors Championship for the Sutton Vase. Following 4 x 99's in the 4 cards of the competition so far, he notched a 5th 99 before going one better for a ton on the final card to win with a total of 199 ex 200, 3 points ahead of his nearest rival.

In gloomy conditions but light winds forty four competitors from the Home Counties achieved some high scores in the East Grinstead Target Shooting Club’s Annual Spring Meeting at the weekend.
